1. Current Situation:

The current situation has impacted everyone and we are not immune. As a result, we have had to rethink every aspect of the GoodFestival. The challenge has been quite daunting:

i. How to support thousands of independent innovators, small businesses and social ventures who are facing uncertain times.

ii. How to deliver an international event if people are reluctant to travel (or not allowed to).

iii. How to facilitate networking, showcasing and keynote speeches if the only channel available is a video call in the short term.

iv. How to connect innovators with new opportunities, investors and funds while we wait for the physical events to emerge from lockdown.

v. How to keep the momentum towards launching Roxbourg, the world’s biggest professional MBA program together with global partners.

Since mid-March we have been in touch with the GoodFestival community to understand which aspect of the GoodFestival to keep and what to change. We are testing different ideas and moving towards the “hybrid event model” that leverages the full potential of going digital without losing the advantages of the physical space.

2. How does the “hybrid event model” work?

The “hybrid event model” has two aspects:

i. Pre-recorded videos and/or professionally produced posters for showcasing projects, ideas or research called “digital showcases”.

ii. Live hosted events from epic venues that seamlessly move from recorded content / video calls to round table discussions / dialogues / keynote speeches / live performances.

3. Why is the “hybrid event model” resilient?

+ The hybrid model works during a lockdown as well as normal conditions.

+ The hybrid model will allow us to scale up in a sustainable way.

4. What is the first step towards creating a hybrid event?

We need to create high quality digital showcases. That is why we are offering a free digital showcase for everyone who participates in the #Switzerland4Good campaign.

5. Why create a digital showcase?

Because a well designed digital showcase can connect innovators with fans, fame and funds:

i. Fans: Your digital showcase will be like a “virtual storefront” in our “mall” called #Switzerland4Good. So everyone will be able to discover your venture, your services and connect with all your social media assets.

ii. Fame: Your digital showcase will digitally display your Good100 medal, so everyone knows that your venture is amongst the best. Of course, you have the option of winning a Good100 medal by participating at a GoodFestival event series - digitally or physically.

iii. Funds: Your digital showcase can be connected to your web based payment link like PayPal.Me so you can receive funds directly from anywhere in the world to your account. Imagine your digital showcase goes viral (these things can happen, you know) and you can start receiving donations from everywhere in the world.

6. What are the proposed next steps?

Step 0: Application:

Step 1: Roxbourg Strategy Session

Once your application is verified, you will be invited to an online Roxbourg Strategy Session where you can test your pitch: How are you building a better world? Based on your pitch we will design our support for your project. 

Step 2: #Switzerland4Good Digital Showcase

We will support you to create your digital showcase as part of the #Switzerland4Good repository of verified projects that have the highest potential to address the biggest challenges facing humanity

Step 3: OneMillionSparks Story Package

We will publish your stories and create a social media campaign to promote your project locally and/or globally via the OneMillionSparks digital platform..

Step 4: GoodFestival Good100 Showcase

You have the option to present your project at the flagship events of GoodFestival 8E in October 2020 and win the Good100 medal (if you haven’t already).

Step 5: Roxbourg Fellowship

All Good100 Medal winners have the option to deliver LEAP accredited workshops and nominate candidates for the Roxbourg Professional MBA with 100% scholarship.
